World’s Most Delicious Food.”

Imagine my anticipation when I saw a sign at the SM City Lipa announcing that the world’s most delicious food is coming to Lipa City. The statement is talking about Beef Rendang, which is widely-considered to be the world’s most delicious food. In fact, CNN Travel conducted a poll, and the world has voted.

Beef Rendang is the most delicious food in the world.

Oh, and yeah, you don’t have to fly to Indonesia to try it. Sendok And Garpu SM City Lipa is now open, and you can try this dish along with other delectable Indonesian dishes yourself.

About Sendok And Garpu

I have to admit that I don’t know much about Sendok And Garpu and Indonesian food in general. I’ve seen their small place in Nuvali, but I don’t know enough about it to try it. But when they suddenly come out of nowhere, proclaiming that they’re bringing the world’s most delicious food with them, it’s safe to say that they’ve captured my interest.

Sendok And Garpu SM City Lipa is located at the 2nd floor right in front of the food court. They occupy the corner right by the escalator. The place is not that big and not too small. I think it can sit around 60 people.

Trying the Beef Rendang and their Other Dishes

It was actually my first time to try the Beef Rendang so I can’t really compare their version, but boy, is it flavorful. Your taste buds will experience a barrage of different spices that our Filipino palate is not used to, but will be welcomed with sighs of satisfaction and closed eyes. The beef is tender and is perfect with rice.

My wife tried the Nasi Sate Ayam which is basically chicken satay in peanut sauce. The peanut sauce complimented the juicy chicken well.

We went back again the same week so we can try the other dishes. I tried the Nasi Iga Bakar which is grilled squeezed beef ribs. Just like the Beef Rendang, it’s tasty and tender. My wife ordered the Nasi Ayam Bakar which is their version of the grilled quarter chicken and again, it didn’t disappoint.

I also love tofu so I ordered the Tahu Isi which is deep fried battered tofu stuffed with fresh vegetables. Man, I love this dish. Make sure to order it to complement your other order.

Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of the last 3 dishes we’ve tried as my phone’s battery ran out of juice.

Sendok And Garpu is Now Officially Open

They actually just had their formal grand opening last Saturday, August 20. Hello Lipa was there because we couldn’t say no to their invitation especially since we’ve tried their dishes already and we love them. We couldn’t confirm fast enough when the invitation said that “sumptuous Indonesian setup meals are provided”.

They weren’t kidding.

The opening was graced by Vice Mayor Eric Africa and his wife, Board Member Wheng Sombrano-Africa.

Here are some more pictures of the grand opening:
