There’s a restaurant along JP Laurel Highway that’s hidden in plain sight. It’s located right in front of De La Salle Lipa and yet, not a lot of people know about it. It’s a cute and cozy restaurant named Mama Chelle’s. After trying it for the first time, I feel that it’s a disservice to the foodies community in our city that it’s not shared. So here I am, doing my civic duty, of introducing you to Mama Chelle’s.

About Mama Chelle’s

Mama Chelle’s is owned by chefs Joseph Kevin Palcon and Aundrea Rivera. Chef Joseph got his culinary arts degree at De La Salle Lipa, and has been in the food business ever since he graduated. On the other hand, Chef Aundrea got hers at Saint Paul University in Manila. They met when they interned for a year at The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island in Florida.

There are a lot of positive vibes inside Mama Chelle’s. Just by looking around, you won’t be able to stop yourself from smiling, with words of positivity and affirmations all over the restaurant.

The Pica Picas

They have their version of the Animal Fries (PHP 110).

This is something that you’d eat with a fork, and you’d eat several forkfuls. I ate these fries before, during and after the main courses.

They also have Supreme Nachos (PHP 139 for a full serving).

They weren’t kidding. It is supreme.

The Wings

They also have wings available in Spicy Buffalo, Sweet and Spicy, Lemon Butter and Soy Garlic sauces (PHP 149 for 6 pieces with rice and nachos).

I love these wings especially the Spicy Buffalo. The wings are meaty, and the sauces divine.

The Rice Meals

Their rice meals are very affordable at PHP 80 with drinks. There’s the Crispy Chix.

It’s a tender piece of chicken fillet with a crunchy exterior. It’s beautiful, as it is delicious.

They also have Chicken Teriyaki.

You’d be eating this as if it’s popcorn.

My wife loves the Fish Fillet.

I did too.

But my personal favorite is the Crispy Liempo.

The gravy really complemented the crispy liempo that’s been seasoned to perfection.

As for Desserts…

We tried the Smores (PHP 85).

It makes you want to take it to a campfire. It’s good, but if for some reason you can only get one dessert, go for the Churros Bowls (PHP 85 for 2 pieces).

What an ingenious way to use an edible bowl for this. The semi-sweet and warm churros bowl really complemented the sweet ice cream.

Here’s their menu!
