In the past, people go to a convenience store to buy chips, a pack of cigarettes, bottled water, or some essentials that they need. Convenience stores were basically somewhere in between a sari sari store and a grocery.

Now with MINISTOP Philippines leading the charge, convenience stores are so much more. We realized one thing when we visited MINISTOP Robinson’s Place Lipa. It can also be a foodie haven!

About MINISTOP Philippines

MINISTOP Philippines is the very first convenience store in the Philippines that comes equipped with an in-store kitchen facility. This means that in addition to their ready-to-eat packed snacks and meals, they also serve hot and fresh meals that you can enjoy any time of the day.

Of course, it’s still a convenience store, so you can still go to any MINISTOP branch to buy your essentials.

That should save you a trip to the grocery when all you need to buy is a couple of things. As mentioned in our first feature of them, they have a wide assortment of merchandise.

They have the following branches in Lipa City:

  • Amethyst Bldg, Tambo
  • Robinsons, JP Laurel Highway
  • Catalina Village, Sico
  • Lipa Cathedral, TM Kalaw corner CM Recto
  • Inside Epson Precision Philippines Factory

For this feature, we visited the newly-renovated Robinson’s Place Lipa branch.

A Foodie Haven

I was surprised to see a lot of people eating full meals. I’m not talking about snacks like their Kariman (which is awesome, by the way). I’m talking about people eating their Uncle John’s Fried Chicken, rice toppers and more.

According to them, most of the customers of their hot and fresh meals are students from nearby schools. Hey, if it’s good enough for students, it should be good enough for everyone!

Uncle John’s Fried Chicken

If you know me personally, you know that I love their Uncle John’s Fried Chicken. I rank it way up there in my personal list of the best fried chicken.

What’s not to love? It’s big, juicy and crunchy. I always get mine spicy.

Now, you can get it glazed!

The MINISTOP fried chicken is a staple of my diet. I eat it at least once a week. I also get a bucket or two whenever there’s a family celebration at home. In fact, we’re sure to get a couple of buckets for our upcoming company Christmas party!

The Rice Toppers

They also have a wide variety of affordable but filling rice toppers.

I’ve always been a fan of the Bicol Express.

If I’m extra hungry, I always get it with a one-piece chicken.

I’m also a fan of their fried siomai.

It’s my first time to try it with inasal rice! Nice combination!

You can also get it with pork adobo rice.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the dinuguan.

The pork sisig is pretty good as well.

Chill with Chillz

Just like the MINISTOP chicken, the Chillz is also a regular part of our diet. The Great Taste White is our regular pick-me-up. Get the Ultimate Chillz!

You can also get the Cloud 9 Chocolicious and the new Mocha.
