Hello Lipa

Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Cone beam computed tomography (CT) is used to capture a 3D image that shows your teeth, bones, soft tissues, and nerve pathways in just one scan.

Dr. Ethel Lipat leads the video and informs us of what and how the machine is used. This is a less invasive process than the conventional teeth x-ray and takes less time as well; however, the radiation exposure of the cone beam is a bit higher than conventional x-rays.

The cone beam CT can be used to evaluate any diseases in the jaw, sinuses, and other areas of the face, so its usefulness is not limited to the teeth bone structure.
