“I did everything right for someone that does everything wrong.”

Hits you right in the feels, eh?

We are part of a hugot generation. Maybe it’s because people nowadays are more open to their emotions and relating to hugot lines makes them feel better. Maybe they find solace in putting their feelings into words. Maybe they find a bit of amusement on these lines. Whatever the case may be, hugot lines have helped mend many a broken heart.

These lines have become so popular, that a café has been operating with these lines as the center of their attraction. I’m talking about Hugot Café Lipa.

About Hugot Café

Hugot Café is actually a café that has several branches in and around Manila. Riding on the trend of hugot lines, they were able to establish a solid brand with a cult following. They were also able to expand to outside of Manila, giving birth to Hugot Café Lipa.

You’ll be hit with a deep hugot the moment you see their logo. You see the Eiffel Tower, but it’s upside down.

Here’s a picture to explain:

Will you catch me when I fall?

It reads:

“Eiffel for you, but you left me hanging.”

Ouch.

It’s not just the logo. Check out these hugot lines all over the café:

Don’t worry. Hugot Café Lipa hits you with reality, but then helps you turn your emotions around. Enter the café and the cozy space will make you feel comfortable as if someone is hugging you while saying, “There, there, I’m here for you.”

Fill Your Stomach with Goodness

There’s a huge missing space inside your heart? Time will solve that. But if you’re hungry, time is not going to help you. However with comfort food offered by Hugot Café Lipa, at least you’ll have a full and satisfied stomach.

We started with some appetizers. The Third Wheel (quesadilla) came first.

Admittedly, I wasn’t able to taste it because I was busy taking pictures and the rest of the Hello Lipa team didn’t wait for me. I can’t blame them because the quesadilla looked good and inviting. They did say that it tasted great and they wouldn’t be with me if I don’t trust their palate.

Then came this spread.

I loved the Long Distance Relationship (the nachos, not the relationship status). It’s meaty and cheesy. The Binesfried (cheese fries) became my best friend as I ate them by the handful in between shots. The Single (5 pieces corndog) should be a hit among kids (not the immature ones in a relationship). We also tried the Unblocked (8 pieces fried Oreo) which should have been for dessert but they’re DEEP FRIED OREOS so don’t judge us.

They’re also known for their burgers. We tried 3 of them. Here’s the Maguumpisa or MU.

I have a mutual understanding with this burger. I love it, and it loves me. #UsAgainstTheWorld

We also tried Just Broke Up.

A piece of fried egg enters the picture. But unlike other 3rd parties, the addition of egg is more than welcome.

We were also served Back Together.

Like your one true love asking you to get back together, you can’t say no to bacon.

They also have sandwiches. We got to try Inbox-Zoned.

Unlike an email from an ex that you hate, you wouldn’t dare snub this clubhouse sandwich.

Rice lovers will love their rice meals. There’s Marry Me.

If I wasn’t married, I’d consider marrying this mushroom burger steak.

I loved Engaged.

These chicken strips are crispy, juicy and perfectly seasoned. Put a ring on them already!

They also have sausages and we got to try Assuming.

If you’re assuming that this spicy Hungarian sausage tastes good, you’re right to assume that. It’s paired with mac and cheese!

We also tried a couple of their pasta dishes. There’s the Cheater.

If you’re going to cheat on your diet, cheat on it with this carbonara.

Of course, you can stay Loyal to your first pasta love – spaghetti.

It’s sweet but not to the point that it’s clingy. No one wants someone who’s too clingy. Are we still talking about the spaghetti?

We enjoyed these dishes with some chillers. Both the Madly (blue lemonade) and Deeply (lemon) were very refreshing.

We also tried some hot and cold coffee.

Choose your coffee – yung matapang na kaya ka ipaglaban or yung sweet na kaya ka pakiligin?

These milkshakes will surely cheer you up.

As for dessert, we tried the Couple.

This 2 piece waffle with ice cream dessert is perfect for sharing, if you have someone to share it with. If there’s none, you can always go for the Loner. Ouch.

We also tried the Overload Sundae.

It should be a good treat while you’re trying to look back and smile at the good memories that you shared.

There’s also the Affogato.

This will remind you that just like the sweet and cold ice cream and the bitter and hot espresso, two different people can be together.
