Barangay San Carlos has been hiding something from us. They’ve been hiding the fact that they have a beautiful coffee shop that serves good food and drinks.
I’m talking about D’Baristroe.
I’m sorry, Brgy. San Carlos, but I really have to share your secret.
About D’Baristroe
Hip and modern. No, I’m not describing a bar. I’m actually D’Baristroe which is a coffee shop.
D’Baristroe opened December of last year so it’s one of the newest establishments here in Lipa City. It’s located in The Sosyal Place which is also a relatively-new commercial complex. Tucked away from the busy side of Lipa City, it’s a place that you’re not going to stumble upon.
It’s a discovery – one worth making.
It’s an awra-mable place. Yes, I’m making words up. Instagrammable just doesn’t cut it for the place. You have to bring your awra game on because you will find yourself awra-ing in front of the camera. Heck, I’m not one to awra but I couldn’t help it.
I love the ambience. It’s a coffee shop fit for meetings, but it’s fancy and romantic enough for a casual date.
Check out its interiors.
The Food at D’Baristroe
Nachos is something you’d expect in a cafe. What I didn’t expect is for their nachos to be this cheesy.
Yes, it looks like a lasagna especially with how meaty it is. It tastes like it too!
It’s a coffee shop but it serves good food as well. My favorite (and I was surprised to see this at a coffee shop), is the Royale Salmon (PHP 250).
This is something you’d expect out of a 5-star restaurant.
Another favorite of mine is the Sriracha Barista Wings (PHP 200).
It hits you with the hotness of Sriracha before it calms you with a hint of sweetness that will make you grab a couple more wings.
The Caramelized Patis Barista Wings (PHP 200) may sound weird.
But your mouth will be craving for the explosion of flavors days after you first tasted it.
We tried a couple of their pasta dishes and I loved the Professor Bolognese (PHP 230).
This is perfect with their wings.
The Beach Girl (PHP 160) is one of the best sandwiches I’ve tried.
It’s like one of those crispy fast food chicken sandwiches, only way better.
Here are the other dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed.
With my tummy at near capacity, I sipped on a cup of Barakoro which is their brewed coffee (PHP 110).
This is how I like my coffee roasted. It still maintains the beans’ natural sweetness.
I also took a sip of the Morocha (PHP 145).
It’s a Frappuccino but you can still taste the coffee.
Here are the other drinks that our team shared.
Coffee with dessert? They have Affogato.
They also serve desserts!
The Caramia De Leche (PHP 140) will make you glimpse at the counter to see if there’s still a whole cake that you can take home.
It’s a perfect ending to a hearty meal!
Oh, and kudos to the friendly and professional owners and staff!
