Lipa Ballet School to Stage a Production of The Nutcracker

As far as ballet productions are concerned, The Nutcracker is one that can be considered as a classic. This is why the Lipa Ballet School, Inc. decided to stage a production 10 years ago. That was the very first time that the Batangas province was able to witness a world-class production that’s well-loved all over the world.

This June 2, 2018, Lipa Ballet School, Inc. will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary and lucky for us, they decided to celebrate it by re-staging The Nutcracker at the Canossa Academy Gym at Lipa, Batangas.

The Nutcracker was actually the very first recital by the school so it’s close to the hearts of the school’s founders, artistic designers and dancers. Since 2008, Lipa Ballet School, Inc. has been molding boys and girls, young and old, to become better, more passionate dancers. Aside from their regular classes held from June to March, every year the school conducts intensive summer workshops in April and May where students put in more hours of work to become stronger dancers.

A Story of a Marvelous Magical Gift, a Gift of a Dream!

The story begins with a wonderful party at the home of the Baron and Baroness Von Stahlbaum. The Von Stahlbaum children Fritz and Clara, are so excited because their cousin, the Grand Duchess, and many of their relatives and friends are arriving any minute. At the stroke of midnight, Herr Drosselmeyer presented Clara with his magical dream gift. The Nutcracker Prince tells the story of the battle with the mice and how Clara saved him from the hands of the Mouse King. The Sugar Plum Fairy and Herr Drosselmeyer realize Clara is getting tired and the Lord of the Sugar Plum Fairy fades away until next Christmas. Clara is left with the memory of the most beautiful Christmas gift and looks forward to her next trip to magical land of dreams.
