There’s no shortage of restaurant serving Chinese food in Lipa City and the Batangas province in general.  A lot of them are good. But eat at an authentic Chinese restaurant and you’ll see a whole world of difference.

Do you need to drive to Binondo or *gasp* fly to China for an authentic Chinese restaurant experience? No, because there’s a new Chinese restaurant at The Outlets at Lipa that promises an authentic experience.

I’m talking about Chun Jiang Chinese Restaurant.

About Chun Jiang Authentic Chinese Restaurant

I have to admit that my expectations skyrocketed when I saw the restaurant’s name. Am I going to be transported to China with every bite?

One foot inside the restaurant and it was like a mini-trip to China. The staff is mainly locals, but the interiors are Chinese-inspired.

Check out its main dining area.

I love that they have these booths for a more private dining experience.

If you’re looking for a more private experience, then book one of their two VIP rooms.

I highly recommend that you come as a group because of the big servings. They have the regular (R) serving that can serve 3 to 4 people and the half (H) serving that can serve 1 to 2 people. They do have set meals for 1 person.

My Recommendations

We tried quite a few of their dishes and I have several recommendations. Let’s start with the Szechuan Spicy Pork Meat Stew (PHP 600 for R and PHP 360 for H).

If I can order just one dish here, this will be the one. I don’t even have to order rice with it and you all know how much I love rice.

But of course, I wouldn’t dine here to order just one dish because I have quite a few favorites including the Steamed Sweet Buns Stuffed with Mustard Leaf (PHP 300 for R).

This is so good. The mustard leaf has a bit of a bitter taste but the slightly-sweet buns complement it really well. You can request for it to be spicy which I highly-recommend.

Most of our team loved the Crispy Golden Rolls (PHP 440 for R and PHP 260 for H).

I loved the crunch of the roll and the vegetables.

They also have Kung Pao Chicken (PHP 400 for R and PHP 240 for H).

It’s a bit spicy but tolerable even for those who don’t love spicy food. I loved the flavors and the crunchy and sticky texture.

Of course, Yang Chow Rice!

Of course the star of the show – the Lobster Pasta (PHP 2,200 to PHP 5,000 depending on the size)

This is on a per-reservation basis only. It may seem expensive but it’s lobster so there’s that. Also once you’re finished, the head will be taken and served in a congee. Basically, you’re getting 2 great dishes for the price!

Other Dishes at Chun Jiang

Here are other great dishes we tried.

Try it Today!

It’s a bit pricier than other Chinese restaurants but you get what you pay for. It’s one of those splurges that will make you feel good (and full!) afterwards, especially if you’re with your family and people you love.
