Lipa City – SM City Lipa will be featuring events highlighting arts, mathematics and traditional cuisine on October 14 to 16 at its Events Center.

On October 14, renowned director Brillante Mendoza will be launching his Film Appreciation Workshop of the movie “Taklub.  This will be followed by a mini press conference and a meet and greet session with the director. 


An exhibit about the movie Taklub will also be set during the launch, illustrating the film’s highlights and director Mendoza’s milestones in the indie film industry.  The film appreciation workshop on the other hand will be held the following day, at eight in the morning at the Cinema 1 of SM City Lipa.

 

On October 15, the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG), Batangas Chapter will be staging the regional eliminations of Sudoku Super Challenge.  This annual event aims to promote mathematics among students and professionals through the Sudoku Puzzle.  MTG Coordinator and Math teacher Susan Dumayas Ignacio, expects that there will be more participants this year.  Last year, the regional eliminations was able to gather 120 Sudoku players, while 2013 winner Albriz Moore Bagsic have already excelled in Sudoku and Math contests in the international arena.

Panaderia: Philippine Bread, Biscuit and Bakery Traditions

In time for the World Bread Day, culinary and pastry enthusiasts may take advantage of the event on October 16 as the authors of the book “Panaderia: Philippine Bread, Biscuit and Bakery Traditions” will be having a book signing activity. The book authors Amy Uy and Jenny Morillo documented and immortalized the stories of traditional bakeries around the Philippines.  SM City Lipa also invited the renowned bakeries in the Batangas province to exhibit their heirloom products.
