Last week, fans of Hello Lipa found out about plans for The Outlets at Lipa City. Judging from the user engagement when news about it was posted on this page, it’s quite obvious that Lipeños are very excited for it.
This 9.3 hectare mall is soon to rise in Lipa-Malvar Batangas. Here’s what we can expect based on the feature at MB Online:
“The Outlets also promises a ‘discount shopping’ experience whole-year round. Discounts may go as low as 70% off for all brands within the area. Aside from shops, this colossal shopping hub will also feature restaurants, food stops, and spaces, ideal for bonding with friends and family.”
Sounds exciting, right? We were hungry for more information. This is why we reached out to the team behind The Outlets at Lipa City. We were able to speak with Rafael de Mesa, VP, Business Innovation Group, and Joey Zamora, AVP-Marketing for AboitizLand which we already know is the developer of The Outlets at Lipa City.
They were kind enough to grant us an interview.
Can you tell me more about the history of The Outlets? How did it start? When did it start?
The Outlets concept was first introduced almost three years ago in Mactan, Cebu. The Outlets at Pueblo Verde was positioned as an outlet store mall concept, offering branded items on sale 365 days of the year.
We expanded the concept into a full-fledged lifestyle destination, by adding more outlet stores and complimenting it with dining and entertainment options. The success of The Outlets at Pueblo Verde gave us the confidence to bring the concept nationwide.
When’s the target opening for The Outlets at Lipa City?
Q2 of 2017 (UPDATE: They’re scheduled to open during the summer of 2018)
What inspired you to establish The Outlets at Lipa City?
Destination shopping has long been existent overseas, especially in the United States and in Europe. *Outshopping,* a term coined for individuals leaving their community to shop in other areas, is a regular practice for the fashionable value-conscious consumer in need of better priced deals without compromised product quality.
Deviating from the limitations of the periodic shopping mall sales, The Outlets at Lipa will provide access to a fresh variety of affordable and authentic brand items every single day of the year.
What are the confirmed stores that you can share with us?
We’re currently not at liberty to disclose the brands that have signed up or that have expressed interest, however The Outlets at Pueblo Verde offers a glimpse into the merchant mix that will be available in Lipa. At five times larger than The Outlets at Pueblo Verde, The Outlets at Lipa will offer even more brands, as well as many more exciting dining, entertainment and leisure offerings.
What can Lipeños expect from The Outlets?
Unlike the usual outlet stores found in the metropolis, The Outlets at Lipa will showcase a broader assortment of retail products and high-quality branded items. You can expect to see discounts as high as 70% off year round.
Aesthetically pleasing and elegantly designed, The Outlets at Lipa will feature family-friendly open spaces with wide pathways, alongside its extensive variety of restaurants and food stops.
Who can they contact for leasing inquiries?
For inquiries, call the Leasing Team at 0917 OUTLETS (6885387).
What’s your message to Lipeños who are excited about the opening of The Outlets?
“The shopping alone is enough to attract people; at The Outlets, shopping for sale items doesn’t mean waiting for seasonal mall sales. At The Outlets, everything is on sale all year round!”
“Another great thing about The Outlets is that shopping isn’t the only attraction. The mall’s ambiance and design is a pleasant departure from the standard big box mall; our format is reminiscent of walking through a village. At every corner there’s something to see or do. Whether it’s watching the kids run around in the park, chatting with friends over coffee at one of the plazas, or watching a game at the sports field, you’re bound to experience something new every time you visit us.” – Rafael de Mesa
Rafael also has some parting words:
“In addition to the park shown in the rendering, there’s another very exciting outdoor feature that we will be disclosing in the coming months. It’s something unique not currently offered anywhere else in the country. Stay tuned!”
There you have it! We’ll be sure to share more information to you once they’re made available! One thing’s for sure, this will change the shopping and lifestyle habits of Lipeños!
UPDATE: Here are a couple more plans and perspectives as sent by The Outlets at Lipa to our Facebook Page that were also used here.
Also, sport fans should be pretty excited about this development:
Envisioned to offer a complete active lifestyle destination, AboitizLand’s commercial development will house top sports brands like Adidas, Planet Sports, The Yard (NBA Store), New Era among others, offering discount shopping 365 days of the year.
I’m sure AboitizLand will release more names as they’re confirmed, but we couldn’t wait for that. We’re very excited so we started digging.
NOTE: These are NOT confirmed tenants.
What we basically did is we searched online and found The Outlets at Pueblo Verde. Just like The Outlets at Lipa, The Outlets at Pueblo Verde is developed and managed by AboitizLand. We feel that it’s safe to assume that the tenants at Pueblo Verde, or at least a lot of them, are considering setting up shop at The Outlets at Lipa.
Here are screenshots of the brands at The Outlets at Pueblo Verde taken from their website:
As confirmed from our interview with Rafael de Mesa, VP, Business Innovation Group, and Joey Zamora, AVP-Marketing for AboitizLand, The Outlets at Lipa will be 5 times bigger than The Outlets at Pueblo Verde, so you can expect more brands to set up shop.
