It’s easy to see why a lot of people invest in rest houses. A lot of times, we just need to take a break from life. These people do it by spending a weekend at their rest house. They arrive at their well-maintained rest house, greeted by trusted caretakers who are basically part of their family. They then take a dip in their pool, admire the surroundings and breathe in the fresh air. Afterwards, they’re fully recharged and ready to go back to their busy lives.
We had the exact same experience these past couple of days. We arrived at the resort and were greeted with smiles all around. We went straight to our newly-cleaned room, rested a little, and went for a dip. We also walked around to admire the surroundings and breathe in the fresh air, with staff members saying hi and offering their good afternoons.
Here’s the thing. We don’t have a rest house. What we experienced is a vacation at the Rose Villas Resort which felt like our relaxing home away from home. It can be yours too.
About the Rose Villas Resort
The Rose Villas Resort is a fairly new resort, having been open to the public just this January of 2017. Before, it was the private rest house of the owners. One thing led to another and now, we can be thankful that the owners, Rodolfo, Rosie, Russel, Rutchie, Baby, Rebecca, Raphael, Reymark and Rustine, opened their doors to the public.
Located at San Jose in Lipa City, it’s surprising to see a relaxing resort such as this just 10 minutes away from the city proper. Designed with Modern Balinese inspirations in mind, you can’t help but relax the moment that you step inside their gate.
You can’t help but say, “Ah, this is home.”
I can say that they stayed true to the Balinese architecture philosophy of Tri Hita Karana which is the notion of balance of three elements namely human, nature and God. The resort allows you to commune with nature and God while maintaining a harmonious relationship with other people.
It’s just a small resort which is perfect if you’re looking to relax with your friends or family. It doesn’t get too crowded. It helps that there are a lot of open spaces.
A lot of people get frustrated when visiting bigger resorts, fully expecting to rest and relax, only to be welcomed by other guests drunk on the videoke machine belting out Aegis hits without hitting a single note right. But with Rose Villas Resort, you can have your escape from your busy life. There’s mutual respect among guests since you’re all there to rest and relax. No one was too noisy.
Their Reception Lobby
Our 5 year old daughter couldn’t hide her delight when she entered the reception lobby. It’s beautiful.
This area can also be used as a party venue for private events.
We were welcomed by one of the owners, Ms. Baby, who gave us a quick tour after we settled in. She’s very hands-on. I even saw her sweeping the floor which served as a good example to the resort’s staff. Speaking of their staff, Ms. Joy deserves acknowledgement for how she made us feel welcome and taken care of during our stay. As a whole, their staff deserves all the accolade that they’ve been getting on the reviews on their Facebook page.
There are 4 rooms in 2 categories – Superior and Deluxe. We stayed in a Deluxe Room that has a good view of the pools and the cabanas. Here’s our view while having our breakfast.
Here’s our villa!
All of their rooms come with modern conveniences like air conditioning, Smart TV, modern bathroom fixtures and the likes. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Needless to say, we slept really well.

The Cabanas and Gazebo
There are 2 cabanas near the pools that are mainly used for day tours. They’re very relaxing on the eyes so you can just imagine how relaxing it would be to lounge on one of these cabanas.
It looks like a massage hut, right? That ambiance will surely relax you.
Oh, and make sure to check them out at night. They’re beautiful at night.
There’s also a gazebo at the other end of the pools. It can fit 15 to 18 people. Just like the cabanas, it’s beautiful at night.
The Swimming Pools
Rose Villas Resort has 2 pools. The bigger one is about 4 feet on one end and 6 feet on the other end.
The smaller one is for kids. I think it’s about 2 feet. It’s the smaller pool of the 2 pools, but it’s still bigger than most kiddie pools.
This is one of our favorite areas of the resort. It’s the perfect entrance for a wedding!
Just in case you haven’t noticed a trend, it’s also very beautiful at night.
How about instead of walking down the aisle, you walk on a bridge?
There are several spots for relaxation if you want to spend some alone time. For example, this hammock looks comfortable.
Speaking of relaxation…
Perfect for Events
You should consider Rose Villas Resort for events like weddings and birthdays. This is especially true if you want to keep the celebration small with just your loved ones and closest friends. One of the owners got married here!
The owners’ mom, Mam Rose (the resort was named after her), also celebrated her 60th birthday here.
The owners admitted that the resort is a work in progress. Don’t get me wrong. It’s lovely the way it is right now, but it’s good to hear that they have bigger plans for the resort. They’re looking to add more rooms. I saw a grilling station under construction. They also don’t have a full-service restaurant yet, but I can’t help but get excited because the food they served us tasted great.
We all could use a timeout from our busy lives. You don’t have to go too far or spend a lot of money to do so. You can stay and relax at your relaxing home away from home – Rose Villas Resort.
