Milk tea is making a strong comeback. This is thanks to popular international brands that are making a lot of noise on social media. We also have to thank the local players – milk tea shops that don’t carry too much fanfare but are worthy of mention for sustaining the milk tea craze.

This milk tea craze is paving the way for new brands to enter the picture. One such brand is Gotcha-a Milktea that is relatively new, but is already establishing a solid fan base. They recently opened a branch in Lipa and being the milk tea lovers that we are, of course we had to try it out.

The franchisees of Gotcha-a Milktea Lipa

Gotcha-a Milktea Lipa is a franchised branch. It’s located at the G Square Building right in front of De La Salle Lipa and as such, it’s very popular among students of the said school. This begs the question – why is it very popular among students?

The answer lies with its offerings. Milk tea is very popular among millennials and it helps that the milk tea of Gotcha-a Milktea is very affordable. You can see a lot of students dropping by to pick up their milk tea for to go, although a lot of them are also staying because of the cozy ambience and the delicious pica-pica that go well with their drinks.

Of course as we found out, it’s not just for students.

The Milk Teas and Drinks of Gotcha-a Milktea Lipa

It goes without saying that they will be judged for their milk teas and drinks, and they passed with flying colors. There is a problem though for your first few visits. You’re going to have a hard time choosing out of 46 available varieties because they all look so good!

12 of 46 different mixes.

You can choose from 4 different mix categories:

  • Playful
  • Happy
  • Specialty
  • Neo
  • Yakult

Here are the ones we tried.

They’re all good but I do have a few favorites starting with the Cielo’s Mix:

It’s not much to look at, but it’s a specialty mix that you have to try. It features the Total Eclipse (black tea, creamer, wintermelon and syrup) which is amazing enough on its own but made better with White Magic. It’s their rock salt and cheese add-on topper that really brings out the goodness in the Total Eclipse.

Speaking of Total Eclipse, it’s a solid choice if you like to keep it simple.

As mentioned, it’s amazing enough on its own.

I also like the Euphoria.

Black tea, cream and syrup are mixed together with Nutella. The result is a euphoric drink that you’ll be craving for the following day.

As a coffee lover, I approve of the Tainted Desires.

It has mocha, syrup and cream. It can also be enjoyed as a hot drink!

The Royalty Mix is a drink fit for royalty but can be enjoyed every day.

It features the Royal Temptation (black tea, syrup, butterscotch and cream) that tempts you even more with the addition of dark choco and White Magic.

I love the Emeraude.
