Good evening fellow Lipeños, I am Monica May Catindig, 18, a proud daughter of Manito Catindig and Marife Palma. I am from Barangay Bagongpook and is currently taking up Accountancy, Business and Management strand in La Purisima Concepcion Academy in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas. I hope you are all doing well, keep safe my fellow Lipeños! 🙂

Can you describe your usual day?

I typically wake up at around 8:30 am. We’ll have our breakfast all together and do our household chores. After that, we’ll spend the remaining time before eating lunch talking with each other, laughing and singing along with classical music playlist. My mother loves to be in kitchen and usually, we will all eat together by 12 o’clock. We’ll gather in the living room and watch movies and take our siesta afterwards. I regularly browse the net in order to be updated and avoid boredom for some time. My usual days were spent with enjoying time with my parents since we have ecq as for this moment. We usually go to bed at 10 o’clock in the evening.

Modern Lipeña is an absolute head-turner for she is committed, confident, tough and is greatly driven by passion and success. She is exceptionally beautiful inside and out and is not afraid of showing herself and expressing her thoughts. She’s fearless and is greatly motivated by her will to inspire and encourage everyone to be themselves.

What’s your favorite Lipeño food?

I actually have two favorite Lipeño foods namely Lomi and Goto.

I am personally driven by my passion to hone my talents and potentials more. Aside from it, I wanted to challenge myself and expand my capabilities to inspire and aspire others to do more and be more. And I think joining Miss Lipa Tourism is God’s way of giving me a sign to step up and believe in myself that I can give out the best within me. I better try now than regret doing what I can in the future. So with so much confidence, I will surely give this the best shot 🙂

Why do you think you should win Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

Miss Lipa Tourism is such a bigger sense of opportunity as well as responsibility. But to answer why I should win the pageant is simply because, I think I am deserving to be. A personal goal without belief of attaining it won’t be effective, so in order for me to win, I should believe and trust myself. In this sense, I will also be able to create deeper view of motivation to inspire and empower my fellow Lipeños.

How do you plan on helping your fellow Lipeños as a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

I am planning to help my fellow Lipeños as a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020 by participating and encouraging them to take good part in this time, especially now that we’re needing unity. I wanted to take this opportunity with the help of Hello Lipa, Miss Lipa Tourism and other organizations here in Lipa to promote obedience and unity to help our government in this battle of ours against corona virus. This issue is the top concern as of this moment, and ways of eliminating further cases to occur must be taken part especially by us.

What is your advocacy?

My advocacy is about Empowerment of Lipeño youth nowadays to become not just ‘youths’ but the future and pride of Lipa. I do believe in the capability of our youth in this generation. And as part of the Generation Z, the generation as of this period, I wanted to make a change in the perception of everybody. I wanted to impart in their minds that this generation isn’t just about fun but more of creativity, passion, our poise to put our efforts with much confidence and that we are all ready to ignite our torches and run with it towards our dreams and goals in life.

What’s your message to your fellow Lipeños?

I would like to say to you my fellow Lipeños –  little things make big days. 🙂 You may not see the effect and outcome of everything you do as of the moment. You just have to put a little sprinkle of patience and perseverance together with courage and passion and you’ll be able to make a fruitful taste of success. We got this together with God Almighty, keep going and be safe 🙂

Becoming someone who will represent and embody Hello Lipa is both a privilege and responsibility. But as for someone who is determined to take a claim out of the both of these, I can say that I am capable, committed, dedicated and passionate to become the Hello Lipa Brand Ambassadress. Taking part in promoting my hometown is such a fulfillment for me who grew up and experience how beautiful life is here in Lipa. And I do believe that with your help, I will be able to make this happen, continuously inspiring and empowering my fellow Lipeños.

Anything else you want to tell us?

Thank you Hello Lipa for giving us the opportunity to express our thoughts and perceptions 🙂 I wanted to tell you that we are all with you in this journey of yours to promote our city, the City of Lipa. More power Hello Lipa! Keep safe and God Bless us all.
