Greetings my beloved Lipeñas and Lipeños, my name is Richelle Jasmine Liwanag Malabuyoc. I hope you’re all in good health and are following what the authorities are instructing us all to do by simply staying indoors and try to refrain ourselves from going out when not needed. Although it may seem hard at least we have a roof above our heads as others aren’t as fortunate like us. Remember prevention is ALWAYS better than cure!

  1. Can you describe your usual day?

When I wake up, I usually rinse my face and brush my teeth before heading downstairs to cook breakfast and lunch for me and my siblings and do the house chores and shower afterwards.

I’d usually chat with my family and friends or scroll through social media to catch up to the new news and trends, watch new tv series and movies in Netflix, play with my dog while tending to her needs or even read a fictional novel from time to time to replenish my imagination hence knowledge. When I get bored I’d practice doing my make up for fun whilst trying on different styles and workout to keep my body fit. Before going to bed I’ll brush my teeth, do my nightly facial routine and pray before I sleep.

  1. Can you describe the modern Lipeña?

A modern Lipeña is strong, determined and are beautiful women who aren’t afraid to speak up her mind and aren’t afraid to do what is right nor will she let anything stop her from fulfilling her goals in life.

  1. What’s your favorite Lipeño food?

My favourite would be Lomi as it is not only delicious but a great food to eat when you’re sick or even feeling cold as it’s a soothing warm soup along with its noodles which will make you feel all warm and feel better inside.

  1. What made you decide to join Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

I decided to join this pageant to have more sense of achievement and fulfilment. Whereas, the excitement I may experience and memories I would make here are beyond measure in worth for widening my social horizon and understanding of people.

My primary reason for joining this pageant is to further develop my self-esteem and also be able to inspire the youth and show them that age truly is just a number and that anything is possible when you believe in yourself. It is also a great privilege and honor to become one of the candidates of Ms. Lipa Tourism which will enable us to widen our knowledge into Fashion and assisting us in promoting Lipa City through the organization’s various programs and activities.

Being a winner is a life changing opportunity, I am confident that I have the characteristics of a beauty queen such as my physical attributes, intelligence, good personality and talented.

To be a Ms. Lipa Tourism 2020 is both an honor and responsibility. I will use my voice to influence the youth and I would raise awareness to certain causes like ‘Out of School Youth’ that is timely and relevant to what is happening now. Education is to replace an empty mind with an open one. I want to show to the youth that being educated is a great way to have more choices in life and to inspire more people to have more awareness towards any obstacles they may face hence to have a better understanding and broadened knowledge in life.

  1. How do you plan on helping your fellow Lipeños as a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

As a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020 I plan on helping my fellow Lipeños by inviting my friends and families from the other parts of the Philippines and Globe to visit Lipa City.

Secondly, I will proudly let them try the famous dishes and let them know about traditions that I’ve treasured and enjoyed during my childhood up to now because from what I’ve previously been taught, it is important to respect and embrace our roots of being a proud Lipeño.

Last but not the least, I have and will continue to help some of the Day Care Centers of Lipa City as I previously have done by sharing school supplies, organizing fun activities during Christmas parties and I too will teach them some basic languages that I have personally learned.

My advocacy is all about expressing and spreading awareness of education to Lipeños especially the youth about how truly relevant it is. Education has always been and will always be important because it is the key to ones’ future. And nowadays, the biggest problem that our educational system has been facing would be that students are studying only to pass and not to learn as peer pressure has pushed them into thinking getting straight As are more important than broadening their self-knowledge not to mention their struggles with mental health and also due to many distractions and time management problems in their life. As God’s messenger I’d like to work hand in hand with other Lipeños to help the youth as well as the less fortunate to have the opportunity of having a proper education for the betterment of their future.

  1. What’s your message to your fellow Lipeños?

When everything seems unreachable or impossible, you will find a way. We need to remain calm and despite all the challenges, everything will fall into places. Always believe that the time will come when we will get what we are dreaming and hoping of getting what we want. Focus on the ordinary and God will take care of the extraordinary.

  1. Why do you deserve to be chosen as the Hello Lipa Brand Ambassadress?

Sometimes you could be blessed with a beautiful face and body with the confidence to match it, but is it enough?

As Hello Lipa’s Brand Ambassadress, I could be the spokesperson and image of the brand whereas I will have the heart to help others and inspire people by being a role model who has valuable skills and experience, as a title holder of my recent pageant.

I believe I deserve to be chosen as the Hello Lipa Brand Ambassadress because as a previous title holder of one of the pageants I’ve joined and as a proud Lipeña I will be able to use my past experiences and valuable skills to help promote not only the brands here in Lipa City Tourism but also the traditions and history both locally and internationally by using different social media platforms where I can show and express to everyone how AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL Lipa City truly is.

  1. Anything else you want to tell us?

I would like to say, thank you to the amazing team behind me. [Pageant camp] Aces and Queens. I am grateful for all the training I did with you. You were my family away from family. I found my confidence when you found my potential.

Secondly, connecting to different people from different walks of life has inspired and taught me a lot of things and because of that I was able to represent Philippines in World Fashion Week 2017 in Kuala Lumpur and was humbly chosen to be one of the judges at Lolalove Cosmetics Model Search 2018 which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well.

I am also a multilingual who is able to speak, read and write 4 languages which are Tagalog, English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu.
