1. Can you please introduce yourself to our followers?
Hi! I am Chelsea Magboo Caliao, 20 and proudly representing Brgy. Antipolo Del Sur. I am taking up Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration at Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas. I am member of a folk dance troupe in our university which represented the Philippines in different countries in Asia. I love eating and travelling and rediscovering the culture of other countries as well.
2. Can you describe your usual day?
My usual day starts with a cup of barako coffee while I check for updates on my social media accounts. If it’s a weekday, I can normally be found in school fulfilling my academic and extra-curricular activities. If my schedule permits, I go to the gym before I drive back home.
3. Can you describe the modern Lipeña?
A modern Lipeña, for me, is the same old Lipeña which exudes exquisite presence and intellect. However, it’s just that today, she has become more confident to express herself and show people what is in her heart.
4. What’s your favorite Lipeño food?
From the texture to taste, it will always and forever be the Lomi of Lipa!
5. What made you decide to join Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?
I know for a fact that Lipa has a beautiful tourism, I know that there are beautiful spots and sceneries that can be found within. The reason why I join this prestigious pageant is to be a servant not by anyone but by our culture, nature and most especially our tourism. I also want to use my voice in order to showcase to all the people how beautiful and healthy is the Lipa City. That is why, I believe that this pageant serves as my stepping stone to make those things possible.
6. Why do you think you should win Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?
I should win Miss Lipa Tourism 2020 because I am more than just a beautiful face. With the things that I have learned through experiences and have been taught of, I can be of purpose that can contribute to greater good of more people and I think winning the title will enable me to better fulfill this.
7. How do you plan on helping your fellow Lipeños as a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?
Maybe I can start by looking on and assessing the things where I could be of help. With the fact that I am no wonder woman, I also have my limitations, but I will be very much willing to find where my capabilities and what my fellow Lipeños need could meet halfway.
8. What is your advocacy?
I strongly advocate for environment protection and conservation. The city of Lipa is on its way of being a highly urbanized city and I want to ensure that as the city progresses, its natural resources are not compromised. For I always believed that nature can live without us, but we cannot live without it.
9. What’s your message to your fellow Lipeños?
I want to let my fellow Lipeños know that I am one with them in making our community a better place to live in; a place where every individual would dream to reside as it is bound with love, respect, and mutual understanding among its people.
10. Why do you deserve to be chosen as the Hello Lipa Brand Ambassadress?
To be chosen as the ambassadress of Hello Lipa will, I think, widen my avenues and network to deliver and communicate my advocacy and everything that I believe in to people. I plan to use the influence that I am to get in participating to different worthwhile causes that will benefit not only me, but also my fellow Lipeños
11. Anything else you want to tell us?
I also want to unmask the different characteristics and values of Lipeños.I know that we are not just wealthy of tourist spots and industrial sites but we also have a rich culture. It’s just that I want to make our people our very own tourist spots – not just purely the destinations.
I also want to share this story to all of you. When I was 13 years old, I lost my mother, she passed away because of kidney failure. She is my inspiration in everything that I do, in studying, dancing career and even in pageantry. I remember when I joined my very first pageant, she was the one who bought everything that I need for that pageant. But unfortunately, she didn’t make it, she died before the competition, but I still fought for the title and I won.
After that pageant, I told myself that I will join again, because I know my Mom would love to see me from heaven joining beauty pageants. That is why this new phase that I’m going through is not just for my own dream, it will also fulfill the dream of the very first person who believed in me and that is my Mom.
