Hi! I am Hermie,an educator by profession and an aspiring candidate for MLT 2020 and it’s my pleasure to meet you all!

2. Can you describe your usual day?

As a teacher, I always wake up early in the morning and go to school then happily teach all day. When I got to go home, I’ll be reviewing my lessons for the next day. Seems boring for some, but it’s really thrilling to be with my students every day who makes me laugh sometimes but gives me a headache most of the time! Haha, kidding aside, no matter how hard it is sometimes, I always make to it to teach in the best way I could and inspire my student to let them know how important and lucky they are to have this opportunity to study.

A modern Lipeña is an empowered woman. I always believe that it’s been a long time since women have given the voice in the society. But that doesn’t end with being heard because WE are now in ACTION. Thus, not all queens are wearing crowns because most of the time, they’re wearing their BIG HEARTS with BIG INSPIRATIONS and AIMS for the betterment of the society.

4. What’s your favorite Lipeño food?

I love Lomi paired with kapeng barako!

5. What made you decide to join Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

I want to break the stigma in the society that the pageant is all about bragging beauty rather I want to show them, what an empowered Lipeña can do. I want to inspire other people not only women, but mostly the hope of our motherland, the youth, discover their full potential as the catalyst of change that will contribute a great impact in passing a better Lipa City to the next generation.

6. Why do you think you should win Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

Because as a modern day Lipeña, I am serving as a role model to my fellow youths just like the gems of the crown showing its glitz and glamour as light reflects on it. However, I just don’t want to have the crown, but rather I want to have the OPPORTUNITY to share my capabilities and ideas to help society with a real, concrete and more meaningful change.

7. How do you plan on helping your fellow Lipeños as a candidate of Miss Lipa Tourism 2020?

???????

With the nature of my profession, I know I could help to conduct activities which can involve more youths. It’s like helping the society with also a purpose of developing youth awareness of what they can do for their motherland and let them know their purpose in life through believing in themselves armed with courage, self-confidence and fear in God.

8. What is your advocacy?

“Strengthening local tourism through research and innovation”.

Based on my observations, a lot of tourist spots are still hidden in our city and it needs attention to be strictly be taken care of. Also, tourism needs a long term plan for innovations that is based on a factual study to make it feasible and successful. However, this is not possible without the help of different organizations linked to our tourism council, thus, this call for a team effort and it would be my honor to carry out this advocacy with the best way I could.

9. What’s your message to your fellow Lipeños?

My dear Lipeños, I hope that you’re not losing hope and let’s continue on praying for the recovery of the world from this chaos. I know this situation have opened your eyes, thus makes you wiser in your future endeavor. Remember that you’re the heart of this city and you always have the power to make decisions and actions for our society to be a better place.

Also, I just want you to know that you’re the reason behind this journey and no matter what will be the result of this pageant, I’ll continue to be the modern Lipeña of glamour and aspirations. Please support me as I make my visions into reality. Thank you!

???????

Being a teacher, it makes me already an influencer and I think with the nature of my profession and my passion for it, it’s a great edge for me to be a part of their team. I am also looking forward to use it somehow as a platform for my advocacy because that’s my greatest purpose in joining this pageant, thus hopefully it might help to expand more the feature story/vlogs of your agency.
